Judas and the Black Messiah
Role: Associate Creative Director / Editor / Motion Designer Type: Social Agency: Trailer Park Client: Warner Bros
As an Associate Creative Director at Trailer Park, I played a dual role, serving as both editor and motion designer, in shaping the visual narrative for Judas and the Black Messiah's social campaign.
My contribution involved editing and motion designing social posts that complemented the film's impactful storytelling. Through these visuals, we aimed to resonate with the timely themes presented in the movie, capturing the essence of the narrative and garnering engagement from the audience.
Released simultaneously in theaters and digitally, Judas and the Black Messiah received critical acclaim for its direction, cinematography, screenplay, and outstanding performances. It earned six Oscar nominations, with Daniel Kaluuya winning Best Supporting Actor.
Additionally, I edited and designed a scrolling piece that showcases critics' reviews and nominations, strategically maintaining focus on the visual narrative to captivate attention on social media.
Furthermore, I art directed and curated social posts featuring critics' reviews of the movie, incorporating beautiful stills from the production to enhance the visual appeal.
Moreover, I motion designed a scrolling "NOW PLAYING" piece, infusing essences from the movie within the letters. This innovative approach later became a staple for numerous film campaigns.
